The hand dryer is just about the most redundant use of electricity througout the city. I'm sorry but there has never been once a hand dryer can justify its functionality without me having to stand there for an eternity. Most people just give after 5 seconds. What I'm surprised with is how often people go back for that redundant 5 seconds under the air cushion that does nothing but give your hands a slimy feeling. As a developed society we are more than often obsessed with solving everyday problems through technological means. After all we replaced parking attedants with remote IU readers, train drivers with automated trains. I reckon if a toilet is being utilised enough, it may actually be cheaper to hire a bangladeshi worker to stand there to give out hand towels. At least I can effectively dry my hands and greeted with a"Thank you come again". |
